Reconciliation of Different Land Use Modes
10:45–12:15 Parallel Session3, Tieva Hall
How successful has the reconciliation of different land use modes been across the Arctic region? Is there enough knowledge and political will for reconciliation and what are the biggest challenges? In the Arctic region there are large yet relatively unused natural resources such as forests, fish, game and minerals. What does reconciliation in Arctic land use mean in the framework of sustainable development? The topic is discussed from the point of view of forest industry, tourism, reindeer herding and mining.
